Join Rutgers LISSA for this virtual meeting with presenter John Daquino, Head of Adult Services at Union Public Library, as he shares his journey from his first year as a Rutgers MLIS student in 2014 to running an adult services department four years later.  Learn how being active outside the classroom on both a regional, statewide, and national level helped him grow professionally and gain full-time employment right after graduating.

Daquino holds an MLIS from Rutgers University and a MA from Purchase College, and is a past NJLA and ALA Emerging Leader. He has been active in regional, statewide, and national library organizations, most recently as Co-Chair of the NJLA Professional Development Committee, and has presented at several conferences. He believes access to information is key to a democratic society and that libraries are a powerful equalizing force.

All MI students are welcome to join us for this presentation online via Zoom at the following link: https://rutgers-comminfo.zoom.us/j/791478644?pwd=&status=success
